Riverside Live Music & Comedy 6/7-6/13/2022
Rock en Español at the Fox, video game music legends Minibosses at Packinghouse Brewery, Red Store Bums get back to The Concert Lounge.
Tunes to Make You Groove (or Game)
Packinghouse Brewing Company continues to expand their Backdoor Stage roster with many local and regional acts emerging after the relatively quiet years for 2020 and 2021.
On Saturday it's a pretty big score as they welcome video game music cult legends Minibosses. The band, which goes back to 1999, is crowdfunding a new album with founding member Aaron Burke. I'm not sure how they found their way to Packinghouse but this just might be a show you wished you hadn't missed.
Also on Saturday, at The Concert Lounge, it's ska ska with local faves Red Store Bums. They'll be joined by OC ska monsters Bite Me Bambi, and San Jacinto's Raztecalii (bringing the reggae and cumbia). Highly recommended.

On The South(west) Side
Back in the '90s there were two reliable southwest Riverside spots for music. See's Coffee in Canyon Crest and Java Books in Mission Grove. See's remained pretty much a single or duo acoustic room while Java Books moved to a better location in the center that allowed for full bands inside and out. Good times.
Today the coffee “houses” are corporate while brewpubs and wineries have become the independent and hyperlocal gathering places that feature local live music and reflect the neighborhoods around them.
But I digress, there are still great live tunes to be found in the southwest of town!
Up the hill at Romano's Mission Grove, the Electric Lite Trio from Riverside (made up of ex-members of Dreamwest and The Rockin' Coyotes) offer up acoustic alt rock songs on the patio Saturday evening.
