Under The Sun, Under The Stars, Riverside Artists Make Summer Sounds
We're in that part of the year when outdoor shows start in the (sometimes very toasty) sunlight and continue through a Southern California sunset into the night.
Tonight, Riverside's purveyors of '70s harmony pop, rock, and country, Raincross Drive sets up in the courtyard of the Canyon Crest Towne Centre for two sets of summer songs. BYO chair if you're not there early as these Tuesday night shows are more popular than ever.

Sweet Sounds, Fine Wine, Good Times
The great thing about Canyon Crest Winery for a performer is that it's a comfortable room. No seat is very far from you and it's easy to connect with the listeners.
Friday night, I recommend being a listener, as CC Winery favorites Ojie and Songbird bring their R&B and jazz vocal stylings to Riverside. The wine is tasty and Betty's Secret Catering will be cooking dinner. Get in on this still-exclusive treasure of the local live music scene!
FRIDAY JULY 01 6:00PM: Ojie and Songbyrd (909, jazz, r&b, blues) | Canyon Crest Winery, 5225 Canyon Crest Dr, (951) 369-9463 | no cover
How many open mics? One...Two-hoo...Three!
It's already a great summer for performers seeking a place to get in front of an audience. Three Riverside locations continue to feature the Riverside Open Mic hosted by Patrick Maloney.
Tuesdays are at The Hideaway with the mic open for music and spoken word/comedy.
Wednesdays are music only at Back To The Grind.
Thursdays are music and karaoke at Euryale Brewing Company.
All three events are great opportunities to perform and to meet other performers. Do it!

Is It a Showcase or Just a Weekly Gig for Two Guys?
The gig is named for Jaxx Sessions, who co-hosts with Michael Juan, but I can't find a thing about who the featured, “…talented, local musicians,” might be. Still, there are ice cold beer and tacos so you'll have that. Let me know who the mystery guest(s) is(are).
